The Foundation Garden

Every garden has a story, and this one begins with the history of the farm itself.

Before the Walker family purchased the property in 2017, this concrete foundation supported the original farm barn. Rather than being demolished, the barn was carefully relocated to Wilson's Orchard, where it continues its story today as the Cider House.

When we began transforming the property, we chose to preserve the original foundation as a tribute to the generations who cared for this land before us. Instead of removing the concrete, we reimagined it as a gathering place—a space where history meets hospitality.

Today, the Foundation Garden is home to horseshoe pits, bocce ball, and raised beds filled with edible flowers and culinary herbs. Comfortable seating invites you to linger, visit with friends, or simply enjoy the beauty of the gardens surrounding you.

As evening falls, the landscape takes on a different character. Soft lighting and evening-blooming plantings transform this space into our Moon Garden, offering a peaceful setting to slow down and enjoy the beauty of the farm after sunset.

We hope you'll take a moment to relax, play a game, and appreciate how this piece of the farm's past has become part of its future.
