The Pasture

The pastures at Walker Homestead are home to a growing herd of Highland cattle, sheep, goats, and free-ranging chickens, each playing a unique role in the life of the farm. Beyond adding to the landscape, many of our animals contribute to the farm's natural rhythms.

Our goats and sheep, for example, occasionally help prune the vineyard by grazing unwanted leaves and vegetation between the vines. Whether you're watching Highland cows graze in the distance, listening to the sheep call across the fields, or spotting chickens wandering the property, the pastures offer a glimpse into the everyday workings of a diversified, sustainable farm where animals and agriculture thrive together.
